Summer in New York!
Jimmy and I absolutely love NY. It is our favorite place. So it was really fun to get to go back (even though it was only for a week) to visit what we will always call "home". We were so lucky too because our families never fail to make us feel appreciated and loved. Right off the bat after our 24 hours of traveling, Jimmy's family picked us up at the airport in a gorgeous limo with food and flowers to welcome us. It was so nice to see them again and I am always blown away at how kind they are to me. It was also so nice to see how happy Christina was from finally getting to see her son again.
The whole rest of the week was awesome. We got to go crabbing on the Hudson which was so much fun. We had to wake up pretty early but it was definitely worth it. We caught at least 2-3 dozen crabs (and they were pretty delicious)...especially accompanied with lobster that night!
We also got to go the temple in the city one day which was amazing and we really enjoyed walking around central park after wards with mom and dad. We found a pretty bridge and it was fun to stop and take some pictures. However, driving to Long Island from the city was quite an experience. But once again, a trip worth the effort. It was really good to see Dad and Debbie and we loved playing and spending time with their new puppy.
Then on our last day we were able to
go to one of our very first date spots (over 4 years ago), the turtles at Bowdon Park, and even though we didn't catch a turtle this time, we had so much fun throwing berries at the frogs and trying to catch them (we forgot bread!). That was one of my favorite days even though it was our last because we got AMAZING pizza for lunch and played games at home while listening to music =). It was perfect.
And of course, one of our highlights was the yankee game, even though they lost. It still is so exciting for me to be in that kind of atmosphere. I love the excitement and unity that is felt there. Jimmy and I will always love to watch, play, and follow sports. =)
We loved our trip and we are so glad that we can call it home. We loved driving Aunt Claudia's outie, we loved getting real deli and pizza, we loved spending time with our families, and we loved finally being together again in NY where we began =). We already can't wait to go again!
