Lexi's First Christmas!!!

Cox Family Trip #3

         Lexi got to expand her traveling to an even further distance this Christmas as we went across the country to the best place in the world... New York. And it started off great.

Now normally before a trip we are running around like crazy, packing at the last minute, and eventually greet the status of being late. Well... not this trip! We were ready to go when Jake came to get us. Took a couple more minutes to get everything in the car... Dash included, but we were makin great time! And the ride to the airport was great too. Thanks again Jake for driving us and our dog.

The surprising thing was how smooth it was in the airport! Going through security was one of my main concerns and seriously the line was about 6 people who were just casually walkin on through. We had plenty of time, help, and room. Lexi was doing great too. No crying, wining, or being ridiculous! We were both so amazed at how easy everything had been....

And then, I get the call from the airline as soon as we sit down, that yep,  we have been delayed 3 hours. Oh man. But lucky for me, I have a very patient husband who enabled me to stay calm. I was worried about Lexi but she did fine. We just put a blanket on the floor and she played there and eventually took a nap there lol. I was very proud of her. 

The plane ride was pretty good too. It was not full at all so we got a whole row to ourselves. Now since birth Lexi has not really liked sitting in her car seat. So like I expected, even though we had the luxury of bringing her car seat on board, she did not want to sit in it. So after a couple tries all resulting in loud and chaotic screams, we put the seat on the row next to us (just had one man by the window in it) and laid Lexi down between us. She fell asleep in an instant and slept the whole way. In fact, even as we landed, as people were getting off, as we were walking to the baggage claim, and as we were seeing Jimmy's family, she stayed sound asleep lol. But of course we woke her up to meet the other side of her family for the first time! It was so fun to see her new Nona meet her. She was glowing.

Well don't want to keep writing this way as I feel like I'm writing a chapter book, so I will make it quick now. The first two days we stayed at Christina's. They made the whole house and our room so nice and it felt very welcoming and inviting. We loved it. They had everything Lexi could possibly need and so that was very sweet as well. We had a lot of fun there. It was actually a great break for me as there were so many people fighting over who got to hold Lexi next =)

Christmas Eve therefore, was at Christine's and it was so much fun. Lexi made out big time with the gifts. Oh my goodness lol Almost everything under the tree was for her! Thank you guys for making it so special. 

The next morning was Christmas!!! and it was very memorable! We stayed for a little at Christine's and then we went up to Poughkeepsie to be with mom and dad and go to Church.

The next day, on Monday, we were with Jimmy's dad's family. It was so fun there too! We also got to see our friends =) It was crazy walking down Steve's stairs for the millionth time but this time with a baby lol. Everyone just loved seeing Lexi!

And then Jimmy left us and it was just me and Lex. We missed him alot but we still had fun =) Here are a few more pics! We had a fantastic Christmas! Can't wait till the next one already!!!
