Fun Fun Fun!
The drive to San Diego was smooth sailing. Lexi was AWESOME! She cried for maybe 10 mins tops at one point but then passed out for the remainder of the trip... even tho it was in the afternoon. I think the fact that we introduced her to crackers, helped =)
It was crazy because we actually went to the wrong hotel in San Diego at first and we didn't remember Martin's last name!! We knew it started with a "P" and ended in "ski" haha but that was about it. So it was kinda funny. We had the people look up all the P last names.
Anyways, the lady at the first hotel we went to, couldn't find any P names with the first name Martin or any names under Cox, and told us that it was common for people to get the Hilton hotels there mixed up. So she sent us to another Hilton hotel (6-7 minutes away). Well we got there and did the same thing... "We think the reservations are under something with a P and ends in a Ski... first name Martin).Nothing.
But this guy was way more helpful. He told us there was actually another Hilton hotel RIGHT next to the one we were just at. So he called there and sure enough it was under Cox. So we went back to exactly where we were in the first place. You would think that the first lady would have told us to, I don't know, maybe check the Hilton hotel sharing the same parking lot with them first! Instead of sending us to one about 8 miles away!
Oh well, we made it. It was nice. Martin had got us a room with two individual rooms, both with lots of space, king beds and bathrooms. There was also a kitchen and a living room. It was so nice of him. As soon as we got there we ordered pizza and put Lexi down. She was such a good girl. She went right down and gave us time to relax. Then, Jimmy went and picked Crystal and Martin up at the airport. We stayed up talking for awhile when they got back and lets just say there was a lot of laughing =)
The next day we went to the San Diego Zoo. Oh my goodness!! What a cool zoo!! It had everything! And it seemed like all of the animals were alert and walking around or easy to see. So that was really cool. Jimmy's fav part was this artic wolf that was out with this zoo person and my fav part was seeing this jaguar. Oh my goodness, it was gorgeous!!! Made me want to go to the amazon lol.
Lexi was good at the zoo too! Although the last hour or so she was just exhausted. She wouldn't go to sleep in her seat either so Jimmy and I took turns holding the little sleeping and HEAVY baby lol. Hey, at least we lost some calories!
That night we made some dinner in the hotel together and talked. It was a great day/night. They are a fun couple to be with.
Monday morning we had breakfast at the hotel, and then drove up to LA. It was fun in the city lol but I would have to admit, not so much fun in the car. Let's just say, this wasn't Lexi's favorite day. We drove to LA, got in and out of the car as we went to the Hollywood sign, lunch, and the beach, and then drove back to Arizona. Very long day lol. But we made some very fun and funny memories. Lexi was SO happy when we got home. We let her play a little before putting her to bed even thought it was midnight.She was all smiles.
The next day we had a bbq here and Martin and Crystal got to meet my bros. And then we went hiking. We would have went earlier in the day but when we got to the mountain, I realized I didnt have my shoes. Turns out I had put them on the top of the car and forgot about them.... they are lost forever. Sad. So we went to the store instead to get stuff for the bbq. That night we played the longest game of settlers in history though, I must say, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
