Exploring

Last weekend, we decided to go exploring as one of our weekend activities. It may seem childish but living on this island, taking the time and just going to a random spot and exploring is actually really fun =). We set off in the early afternoon and ended up stopping on the way towards North Shore. We got out and the ocean was so shallow for almost half a mile! And there were tons of rocks to turn over so it was a good place! We had a lot of fun and stayed for quite awhile just turning over rocks and seeing what would come out. We saw sea cucumbers which I learned squirt liquid out as a defensive mechanism. Lol it was fun to watch them squirt at us. We saw tiny shrimp which were SUPER fast. We saw lots of crabs of course, some small and some absolutely gigantic. We saw fish, and cool snail and shell animals, and lots of creatures that we didn't even know what they were. The coolest thing that we saw though was an eel! It was pretty big too. About 2 feet. We were actually on our way back to shore, when we spotted it. At one point it was a foot away from me with its mouth facing my leg. It was actually kinda scary. So we had a great time! It is amazing how many creatures can be found just under one rock.
