Slow Down Child!

Lexi seriously makes me tear up lately on a daily basis. Why? Because she is just so amazing and growing up SO fast! There have been so many times the last month that I catch her doing something that just makes me stop everything and just smile.

You are amazing Lexi!

Of of the main things that is incredible to me is how she has been interacting with her baby dolls. She wraps them, puts them in Izaac's bed, chair, swing, etc, feeds them, makes them bottles... literally (Jimmy found her the other day, on the counter with a bottle filled to the brim with formula), burps them, sings to them, dresses them, tries to put diapers on them, puts them to bed, and makes them sit on the potty.

This is just crazy to me. It is obvious that women truly have an innate nurturing quality. And it is also obvious that she really is watching my every move. Makes me realize just how careful I have to be, to make sure I do not pass on any bad habits or behaviors because she is definitely paying attention!

I also cannot get over how much she loves her little brother. Oh my lanta! There is still no anger or jealously AT ALL! She just loves him to pieces. This is what often makes me cry as I find her sitting there singing to him, giving him something, trying to help him when he is crying, or just smiling and staring at him all day long. Just today as he sat on the couch for awhile, she sat right up next to him and kept talking to him, kissing him, and staring at him... all the while with a big huge smile. 

I love this. A friend recently told me (before Izaac was born) that even though my attention would be split between the two, we were giving Lexi one of the best gifts she could have, a brother. It just makes me melt realizing that this is so true. I have no doubt that she already has such a deep love for him and that they will be great great friends. I just love this!

Some other fun, cute, and amazing things that Lexi is doing lately,

Saying new words by the second and saying several sentences "Who's that?" "Here you go", "Lets go", "Brush my teeth", and "I love you"
She has made up some fun renditions of several words too -calls popsicles "pops", blanket "bookie", Juice "Jew", bugs "guys"

Singing more and more (Favorite song is still "Wheels on the Bus" -She can now do all of the actions

Putting her shoes on and off

No longer drinking out of bottles

Putting Legos together (Her new favorite thing to do by far)

Has moved on to Diego. Dora is no longer her first choice

Jumping so well!

Wall climbing everything -No longer needs a stool or a boost. Can climb up sinks, counters, and whatever by some monkey gene that she must have -This has resulted in lots of timeouts

Kicking a ball

Catching a ball

Going head first down on the slide

Saying animals and their sounds

And now swimming with floaties and jumping off the diving board!

She is just so incredible! It is so fun to have her around. She is always making us laugh, smile, or have a heart attack.
