Feeding Therapy

This cutie started feeding therapy a week or so ago and so far it's been great! 

His feeding therapist's name is Marnie and there is a reason that people just rave about her. She is fantastic!

She is so good with Zavier.

Because Zavier will hardly eat.... anything...

She wanted us to come twice a week but it's all the way out in Phoenix and so we are just doing once a week instead. It's at UCP (United Celebral Palsy of Arizona) which actually just happens to be right by Grandma and Grandpa's! This has been fun because we have stopped at their house now every time either on the way there or back.

Anyways, in his sessions, Marnie tries to get him to just explore his food instead of just eating it.

So he will feed toys or animals. He will drive cars through things like yogurt or apple sauce. He will dip veggie sticks or pretzels into fun bowls of stuff.

The goal is to get him to start eating things with a different texture other than hard or crunchy.

So far no luck. BUT it has been a great learning experience for both of us. And it's been fun for Zavier. You can tell he enjoys his time there.

I am so grateful for all of the resources out there for our Zave. It is very comforting to know that we have so many people thinking about him and helping him.
