First Time in Flagstaff
Last weekend, Jimmy and I left our kids with Jake and Cari, and went up to Flagstaff to scout out the area and hopefully find a place to rent for the next little while.
If you didn't know, yes we are moving!
It was a fun time together. Every time Jimmy and I are alone, especially on the road, it always makes me feel like I am 17 again. We had a blast.
Despite the fact that we didn't necessarily find a place.
However, we did find our dream neighborhood and are now in the process of trying to find a home there and buy it. We may have to rent before then but so far we are just in a little waiting game.
The fun thing is, is that both of us are IN LOVE with this neighborhood. It is so cute, family and kid friendly (almost every house had bikes in the drive way, trampolines in the back, playgrounds in the back, or kids themselves outside), and just what both of us have pictured our family living in.
So to think that eventually we will get there, is so so so fun to think and dream about.
As far as our trip, the drive up was fast and easy. We got to talk a lot, listen to fun music, and I even got to paint my nails!
As soon as we got to Flag it was gorgeous. Trees EVERYWHERE. And it was amazing how different the weather was. It was still about 90 out at the time but it was still chilly to us. So weird.
We took a couple stops just taking in the beauty.
We had some time before we had our first appointment so we stopped and ate at a kind of whole in the wall Mexican restaurant. I already forget the name. But it was awesome! Jimmy had looked up the best places to eat and sure enough the reviews were right!
We then, head up a little bit more north to Bellemont where the townhouses we were seeing were. And this is where we found our dream neighborhood! The town houses were just across the street from this gem of a place.
We were still a bit early so we turned up the music and drove through and just fell in love.

We liked the townhouses but they were still pretty expensive and way small, so we didn't make any immediate decisions and went on to look at more stuff. The rest were about the same. Expensive and small.
So with lots of choices to make, we headed towards Sedona, where our hotel was.
It was of course beautiful to drive into. Jimmy is really blessed to be able to work in such a beautiful area.
We got to the hotel, but we honestly didn't do much but talk. We talked almost all night about what to do and our choices. So, I thought we would do some swimming, eating, and sleeping, lol but we didn't. We actually got so caught up in things, it was too late to eat or swim so we went to a near by gas station and got some cheap snacks and treats.
It was actually kind of perfect. We also had taken an early walk around the hotel. Which is where we found the most disgusting, terrible, creature to ever live, just walking around the parking lot near our room. Yes, a tarantula. Dear goodness, makes me sick just thinking about it! Luckily it got ran over.
The next morning we drove around some more and saw some more potential places. And then we went back home. And on the way we missed by literally about 10 seconds a huge oil truck turn over. Before I even knew what was happening, we were stopped and Jimmy was out of the car. I don't know how but this man survived and got out. It was hard to see though as he was completely covered in blood and black oil.
My husband is so amazing as he helped him, called 911, and basically took official control. He makes me a proud wife. Looks like us moving will be for a good cause =)
