The Tree

Once again we wanted to cut one down ourselves this year, and once again, it didn't work out!! We called super early too, to get a tag and the only ones available were up at the Grand Canyon. Grrrr!!

Next year, we are determined to figure out the system even if it means starting this month! =)

Anyways, we couldn't find any "just tree" spots to buy one here in Cottonwood. Just the major stores had them and we kind of wanted it to be more special!

Hey... we really like the "Christmas tree experience"

So we decided to drive to Prescott and see if there were any there. No, we didn't look it up first...

Here is Lex all ready to go!

There was a farm with some trees in Prescott (the same farm we actually went pumpkin picking at) but the choices didn't look too great, so we actually ended up just getting it at the home depot in Prescott. And since both kids were asleep, Jimmy did it all himself and I stayed in the car with the kiddos. Nice and warm!!

Though I did run/sneak out for a quick picture!

And before the trek home, we stopped at Inn and Out for Jimmy's liking. 

Which was okay for me because there was snow there! It was so fun showing Lexi and letting her explore it for a minute. She has never seen it before!

The ride home was just hilarious, since the tree was literally horizontal with the car every 10 minutes or so. But it was just so funny to look at, that it didn't make either of us mad, we just couldn't help but laugh! Each time we stopped to fix it and saw how it was, we would just bust up laughing. 

And the kids of course were screaming there lungs off, so it kind of made it even more funny.

We set it up downstairs when we got home and even though it was way smaller than last year, it was perfect. It smelled AMAZING and just made the Christmas spirit much more strong!

Love us a good real Christmas tree!
