Hard work & a Caterpillar

Because of all the rain this summer, the weeds in our yard took charge.

Thousands and thousands of them stood in our rocks and it looked absolutely terrible.

So finally after it started to get a little bit cooler out and the rain started to subside, we took them on.

Even Lexi helped.

She enjoyed it too. 

I gotta say, even though it was hard, dirty, and even painful (literally) to pick up every last one of those weeds, it was really cool showing and teaching Lexi what hard work is and what it can accomplish. 

Towards the end, she would go in the spots where all the weeds were gone, stand there, gasp, and say, "They're all gone!"

And on one of the mornings that Lexi was out there with me, we came across the biggest caterpillar I have ever seen!

Seriously it was huge. 

So huge, we put him in a jar to show Izaac and then daddy when he got home later. 

Lexi was so excited that we kept him for a while. She called him "Pillar"

Oh! and for the record... no more weeds!
