"Love" Day

Happy Valentines Day!!

It was definitely a strange Valentine's this year, as it fell on a Sunday, but it still was such a fun day. It was so fun anticipating Valentine's this year too. Lexi, and Izaac now, just LOVE getting ready for a new holiday, and so we had lots of fun doing crafts, putting up decorations, and talking about all the things that we LOVE for a couple weeks leading up to it. =)

Early that morning the kids woke up to lots of red and pink balloons everywhere. 

Of course, they thought this was the COOLEST thing. And if you didn't know us very well (or the fact that we do balloons for almost every occasion) you would think that these kids have never seen balloons before in their lives. 

It was so cute to watch them run around like animals chasing, kicking, and throwing the balloons everywhere. 

 

And that morning, we had some heart shaped pancakes. Definitely a Cox family tradition. And it's nice because both kids gobble so many of them down. So they started off with super full bellies. 

We didn't do any treats yet because Daddy wasn't home. Which was fine because after pancakes, I let them help me make some cupcakes for the Young Women, for church.

So of course, they snuck in some sugary goodness every chance they got. 

Here are the cupcakes. Lexi thought they were "so so beautiful" and was obsessed with the fact that some of them were pink.

Then we headed off to Church.

And when we came back, I snapped some cute pictures of them on the rug. 

And here is a cute one of outside that day.

It's always around Valentine's that it gets warm enough where they can just go out on the deck as they please, and it is AMAZING. 

Jimmy didn't get home till around 7 that night. But we still all got to have dinner together, and then we had some fun candy and snuggle time in our bed.

After we put the kids to bed and I was walking out of Lexi's room, she said, "Mommy, I just love Valentine's day."

So it was a win in my book.

And here is our Valentine's basement door craft that has become a new tradition. Each holiday/season, they have been making a new extra special craft to put up. 

This time it was heart trees.
